Since the empire of lies emerged from WW II as the only major world nation unscathed by the ravages of war, it’s been an unparalleled menace to humanity worldwide.

Count the ways.

For over the past 75 years, its ruling regimes, largely Dem ones, have been involved directly or indirectly in 201 armed conflicts in 153 countries.

They comprise over 80% of global wars over this timespan. 

At the same time, US rage for unchallenged global dominance waged war by other means on all nations unwilling to sell their sovereignty and souls to a high power in Washington — by color revolutions, coups, assassinations and sanctions to make economies scream.

The late William Blum put it this way, saying:

Throughout the post-WW II period, the US “war machine has been on auto pilot” — on the phony pretext of spreading democracy, what its ruling regimes abhor, tolerating government of, by and for everyone equitably nowhere, especially not at home.

Hegemon USA’s agenda throughout the post-WW II period “is worse than you imagine,” said Blum, stressing:

“If you flip over the rock of American foreign policy (throughout) the past century, this is what crawls out: invasions, bombings, (subversion), overthrowing governments, suppressing (popular) movements for social change, assassinating political leaders, perverting elections, manipulating labor unions, manufacturing ‘news,’ death squads, torture, (chemical), biological (and nuclear) warfare, (radiological contamination), drug trafficking, mercenaries,” police state repression, and endless wars on humanity.”

Countless tens of millions of corpses, at home and worldwide, attest to US barbarity, a rogue state like no others in world history from inception, especially in the modern era with super-weapons able to strike targets anywhere worldwide.

Blum detailed it in his books, articles and commentaries — essential to know truth-telling that US regimes and their MSM press agents suppress.

A near-generation ago, International Politics Professor Robert Jervis called “intervention as American as apple pie” in his book, titled “The New American Interventionism.”

It’s all about US sought hegemony by whatever it takes to achieve its diabolical aims.

From sea to shining sea land theft and extermination of Native Americans, to the halls of Montezuma and shores of Tripoli, to raping and destroying one nonbelligerent, nonthreatening nation after another for being free from US control — all of the above and what relates to it defines the American way, its diabolical drive for hegemony.

It’s been ongoing before and since its 1776 revolution, at the time continuing dirty business as usual under new management.

In 2019, Jimmy Carter, now aged-97, called the US “the most warlike nation in the history of the world,” adding:

In its history from inception, they’ve been only 16 years of relative peace.

West Asian and North African Studies Professor Jawaid Iqbal called the US “the greatest violator of human rights” worldwide, adding:

Its ruling regimes “attempted to hide these violations by superficially deploying the language of democracy and rules, a language that results in the further attrition of human rights.”

Days earlier, the China Society for Human Rights Studies documented US crimes of war and against humanity, arbitrary detentions, torture of prisoners, indiscriminate sanctions, and other major violations of international law on targeted nations.

According to Cuban philosopher Gilberto Valdes Gutierrez:

US history is pockmarked by “numerous military interventions and the organizations of coups to eliminate those governments that did not easily accede to its demands.”

Fidel Castro redoubtably resisted hegemon USA’s rage to dominate from the 1959 Cuban revolution he led to his 2016 death at age-90.

Notably he said the following:

“I find (predatory) capitalism repugnant.”

“It is filthy. It is gross. It is alienating…because it causes (perpetual) war(s), hypocrisy and (cutthroat) competition.”

“Someday, the capitalist system will disappear in the US, because no social class system has been eternal.”

“One day, class societies will disappear.”

“We will all be in for our turn, but (what Fidel stood for) remain(s).”

It’s “proof that on this planet, if we work with fervor and dignity, we can produce the material and cultural goods that human beings need, and we must fight without ceasing to obtain them.”

Fidel passed on November 25, 2016. His spirit remains eternal.

In stark contrast to forever wars that define how hegemon USA operates, Fidel championed peace, equity and justice for all.

Along with smashing one independent nation after another, the empire of lies uses virtually every dirty trick imaginable in pursuit of its diabolical aims, including illegal sanctions and election-rigging at home and worldwide.

In her book, titled “Covert Regime Change: America’s Secret Cold War” hegemon launched at least 64 covert operations of subversion against other countries.

During new millennium years, its sanctions on targeted nations increased over tenfold.

Ones imposed on nonthreatening Russia are unparalleled in numbers and what’s targeted.

Throughout the post-WW II period through 2000 alone, US regimes interfered in 81 foreign elections, according to Political Science Professor Dov Levin.

Its drive for global hegemony is built on a foundation “of greed and lust for power,” according to political commentator John Wight.

Imperial arrogance defines the American way — waging endless wars by hot and/or other means to control other nations, plunder their resources and exploit their people as serfs.

There’s nothing remotely democratic, equitable or just about a nation willing to risk destruction of planet earth to own it.

That’s what the American way is all about — from inception to the modern era.

According to a newly published poll by the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center, Vladimir Putin’s current approval rating is 81.3% — in stark contrast to the fake Biden’s 30%.

There’s no ambiguity about why the vast majority of Russians support Putin.

He serves all Russians, not the privileged few alone like US/Western regimes operate.

On August 8, FBI and secret service agents raided Trump’s Florida residence — unannounced without just cause, what DJT called politically motivated persecution.

The US Constitution’s Fourth Amendment prohibits unreasonable searches and seizures.

Reasonable cause aside, unjustifiable justification can be concocted by inventing reasons for searches and seizures with or without warrants.

That’s how the scourge of police states operate — notably hegemon USA at the federal, state and local levels.

In Chicago where I live — and most everywhere else in the US nationwide — cops, the FBI and other federal agents have virtual carte blanche authority to operate with impunity, no matter how flagrantly in breach of the rule of law.

Victims — overwhelmingly Black and Brown Americans — are harassed, abused, beaten, detained, falsely charged, and at times murdered in cold blood.

December 4, 1969 remains one of many days of infamy in Chicago.

While they slept, city police and FBI agents murdered Black Panther leaders Fred Hampton and Mark Clark for the “crime” of wanting everyone afforded equity and justice, according to the rule of law.

In his 1980 doctoral dissertation, titled “War Against the Panthers: A Study of Repression in America,” its co-founder Huey Newton wrote:

“How many people’s lives were ruined in countless ways by a government intent on destroying them as representatives of an ‘enemy’ political organization.”

“Enemy” ideas include employment, a living wage, healthcare, decent housing, education, justice, peace, as well as an end police brutality and state-sponsored terror at home and worldwide.

Noted journalist, HL Menchen, once said the following:

“The most dangerous (individuals) to any government (are those) able to think things out…without regard to the prevailing superstitions and taboos.”

Their inevitable “conclusion is that (their ruling regimes are) dishonest, insane, and intolerable.”

“In his book, titled a “Race to Incarcerate,” Marc Mauer discussed America’s obsession with imprisonment, punishment, and the commodification of prisoners to fill beds — harming society’s most vulnerable. 

They’re targeted for supporting ethnic justice, racial emancipation, as well as political, economic and social equality across gender, ethnic and racial lines, then locked away in the “Land of the Free.” 

The same ruthless standard applies to wrongfully designated enemies of state.

I’m no Donald Trump admirer, far from it — having strongly criticized his domestic and geopolitical policies for good reason.

At the same time, I strongly support world peace, stability, equity and justice, according to the rule of law.

Time and again, both right wings of the US war party go the other way on all of the above — trashing the rule of law instead of upholding it.

It’s evident by waging endless wars of aggression on invented enemies, by exclusively serving wealth, power and privileged interests at the expense of the general welfare — by heading things for possible nuclear war on Russia and China in pursuit of unchallenged global dominance by whatever it takes to achieve their diabolical aims.

Trump is considered an enemy of the state for not being establishment enough, for not sticking exclusively to the fabricated official narrative, for not being tough enough on Russia.

And while supporting kill shots and all else flu/covid related, he’s unenthusiastic about mandating the above.

There’s no ambiguity about long knives out to prevent him from winning another term as US president.

So inventing reasons to demonize him is official policy by US dark forces — notably by undemocratic Dems and their MSM co-conspirators.

That’s what the myth of a January 6, 2021 Capitol Hill insurrection was all about — what, in fact, was a made-in-the-USA anti-Trump false flag to unjustifiably smear him for what he had nothing to do with.

The only internal — or foreign — threats to the nation and its people are state-sponsored.

In response to the police state raid on his Mar-A-Lago residence, Trump said the following:

“Nothing like this ever happened to a (US) president…before.”

“After working and cooperating with the relevant government agencies, this unannounced raid on my home was not necessary or appropriate.”

“It is prosecutorial misconduct, the weaponization of the justice system, and an attack by radical left Dem(s) who desperately don’t want me to run for president in 2024, especially based on recent polls, and who will likewise do anything to stop Republicans and conservatives in the upcoming midterm elections.” 

“Such an assault could only take place in broken, third-world countries.”

“Sadly, America has now become one of those countries, corrupt at a level not seen before.” 

According to his son, Eric, FBI agents “ransacked” his dad’s office, adding: 

“To have 30 FBI agents — actually more than that — descend on Mar-a-Lago, give absolutely, you know, no notice, go through the gates, start ransacking an office, ransacking a closet.”

“They broke into a safe. He didn’t even have anything in the safe.”

Undemocratic Dem dark forces “don’t want (Trump) to run and win again in 2024.”

“That’s what this” police state raid was all about — and all else related to it.

A DOJ probe is ongoing into Trump’s handling of classified documents while in office — seeking a way to besmirch him more than already, maybe indict him on phony charges.

While it’s uncertain if he’ll run again for president in 2024 when he’ll be age-78, he clearly has widespread support.

And that concerns undemocratic Dems and other US dark forces.

They want easily controlled figures in high office, especially the highest in the land.

For them, Trump isn’t establishment enough.

In stark contrast to the fake Biden, he’s not easily controlled.

If he decides to seek another term as president in 2024 — and polls show him favored to win — his life may be endangered to stop him in similar fashion to how US dark forces assassinated JFK, RFK, MLK, Paul Wellstone, JFK, Jr and others.

Throughout its history from inception, the US has been a fantasy democracy, the real thing virtually banned.

Monied interests and other dark forces run things.

They’ll stop at nothing to maintain unchallenged control over the nation and its people — including by perpetual wars on invented enemies and elimination of homeland threats to dirty business as usual.

Its ruling regimes “can choose to change this policy and considerably improve the lives of Gaza’s residents.”

“It can also choose to continue this cruel, unjustifiable policy, which sentences…two million…Gaza(ns) to a life of abject poverty…inhuman conditions” and utter misery.

The Strip is unlivable for its long-suffering people.

Its economy in free-fall, youth unemployment is around 70%.

Its healthcare system virtually collapsed.

About 96% of its drinking water is too contaminated for safe human consumption.

Electricity is available for only a few hours daily.

Israeli regimes use deadly force on Strip residents at their discretion — while the world community of nations yawns and pretends not to notice — especially the debauched West.

Hegemon USA finances, supports, encourages and partners with Israeli human rights abuses and other grievous rule of law breaches.

A small handful of nations stand tall by condemning Israeli state terror.

They’re exceptions to the rule.

Without nowhere in sight international community support with teeth, they’ll be no end to Israeli slow-motion genocide of long-suffering Palestinians, especially not in Gaza.

Along with terrorizing its people, Israel controls its border crossings, airspace and offshore waters.

A virtual blockade exists — an act of war under international law.

Based on FOIA-obtained documents by the Gisha Legal Center for Freedom of Movement, Israeli regimes employ a “deliberate reductive policy” in Gaza.

Slow-motion genocide by another name, Israel restricts the caloric intake of Strip residents to a bare minimum amount needed to survive.

Since Friday, Israel has been terror-bombing Gazan residential areas, killing civilians in cold blood. 

Through Saturday, at least 24 Strip residents were killed — including 6 children — over 200 others wounded, many seriously, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.

PM Yair Lapid turned truth on its head, falsely claiming that IDF terror-bombing is based on “concrete threats (sic)” — what don’t exist.

According to IDF spokesman, Ran Kochav, terror-bombing of Gaza will continue for at least a week, ceasefire ruled out.

After Israel’s cold-blooded murder of senior Islamic Jihad (IJ) freedom fighter, Tayseer al-Jabari, on Friday, the IDF killed Khalid Mansour on Saturday, IJ’s southern Gaza military commander.

Like always before when Israeli regimes preemptively attack Palestinians, the Lapid regime invented a nonexistent threat to justify what’s indisputably unjustifiable, saying:

IDF strikes on Gaza aim to “remove a concrete threat against Israeli civilians” —  bald-faced Big Lie.

Israeli terror-bombing threatens to escalate into full-scale war for the 5th time since the Jewish state’s 2008-09 Cast Lead aggression.

By open letter to the UN Security Council on Friday, the Al Haq human rights organization said the following:

The Lapid regime preemptively attacked Gaza with “excessive force including missiles and artillery shells.”

“Al-Haq warns that Israel’s aggressive attacks on the Gaza Strip disproportionally (affect) the civilian population.”

By any standard, the Lapid regime is guilty of war crimes.

Its war minister, Gantz, “approved a draft order of up to 25,000 soldiers for operations in and around Gaza and (began) calling upon its reservists in preparation for the escalation of violence (against) Strip” residential areas.

“Al-Haq strongly condemns Israel’s aggressi(on) in occupied Gaza, as well as its continued illegal blockade and use of collective punishment against” its two million people. 

Days before preemptively attacking Gaza, the Lapid regime “closed all crossings into (the Strip), restricting movement of Palestinians, as well as inhibiting the flow of fuel to Gaza’s sole power plant, impacting the delivery of vital electricity resources.”

Al Haq’s call on Security Council members “to halt Israel’s indiscriminate and excessive attacks on Gaza, ensure the provision of vital humanitarian supplies and prevent further killings of the protected Palestinian population” fell on deaf ears.

US, UK and French veto power assures no end to Western support for Israeli crimes of war, against humanity and other grievous human rights abuses.

Separately on Saturday, the Gaza-based Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) said the following:

IDF terror-bombing of Strip residential areas continues.

“PCHR fears that there will be more civilian casualties in an area considered among one of most densely populated areas in the world and where there is not any form of protection, including public and private shelters or even safe corridors.”

“PCHR brings to mind that in recent offensives on the Strip, civilians and civilian objects were always under IOF’s attacks as a way of exerting pressure on (freedom fighting) Palestinian armed groups.”

“PCHR emphasizes that these airstrikes violate the principles of necessity and proportionality while conducting directed attacks against densely populated areas and use of weapons based on collective punishment is a grave breach of the four Geneva Conventions of 1949 and amount to war crimes.”

“PCHR calls upon the international community to take immediate action  to stop Israeli crimes and avoid any further deterioration of the humanitarian situation.”

In the run-up to and after establishment of the Jewish state on stolen Palestinian land in May 1948, its ruling regimes operated with impunity.

What began Friday against Gazans is the latest chapter of how the scourge of Zionist tyranny operates.

Once again, two million Strip residents have no way to protect themselves from IDF terror-bombing.

What the Lapid regime scheduled for a week — for political, not security, reasons — could go on much longer.

How many nonthreatening Palestinian men, women, children and infants will die from Israel’s latest aggression?

How many more will be seriously injured or maimed?

How many Strip residents will lose all their possessions — destroyed by IDF missiles?

How many Gazan families will be homeless, their residences turned to rubble?

The late Palestinian American scholar, intellectual, activist, Edward Said, once called “serious public discussion” about Israeli crimes of war, against humanity and genocide against Palestinians the last taboo, adding:

“Abortion, homosexuality, the death penalty, even the sacrosanct military budget can be discussed with some freedom.” 

“The extermination of native Americans can be admitted, the morality of Hiroshima attacked, the national flag publicly committed to the flames.”

While cracks in the wall of silence appeared after Said’s remarks, one-sided US/Western support for Israel remains rock-solid.

It’s been this way for the past 74 years with nothing in prospect for changing things.

The truth of the matter is that, warts and all, our civilisation was doing quite well and heading in the right direction on may fronts DEPSITE concerted efforts to subvert and derail that progress.

We have, by increments, been heading for quite some time towards a Golden Age of peace and prosperity in the teeth of outright sabotage from globalist vested interests determined to keep us locked in their Dark Age of war, poverty and strife.

But the truth, inevitably, is finding its way through the force screen of censorship and deceit.

Climate Scientist Says Humans Cause Less Than 0.05°C of Global Warming and Warns of “Anarchy” From “Delusional” Net Zero Policies

With Germany scouring the world for supplies of oil and gas and firing up dormant coal power stations, one of its most distinguished atmospheric scientists, Professor Hermann Harde, has castigated politicians for reacting to increasingly shrill climate horror stories and “believing they can save the world”. Many of the research studies and “horror scenarios” are not based on a secure physical foundation, he says, “but rather represent computer games that reflect what was fed in”. The idea that humans can control the climate with their CO₂ emissions is said to be an “absolute delusion”.

In Professor Harde’s view, there exists considerable doubt about a “scientifically untenable thesis” of purely human-caused climate change, “and it is completely wrong to assume that 97% of climate scientists, or even more, would assume only anthropogenic warming”. In his view, climate and energy policy can only gain popular acceptance when they are based on reliable knowledge, “and not on speculations or belief”. Harde retired a few years ago from Helmut Schmidt University in Hamburg as Professor of Experimental Physics after a long career in science academia.

For many years, Germany’s politicians have been able to make virtuous green noises by closing nuclear power stations and banning exploration for fossil fuel. At the same time, the country started importing large quantities oil and gas from an unstable Russia. The war in Ukraine has suddenly brought home to Germany, and the EU, the sheer stupidity of this dangerous policy.

In Harde’s view, the move to impose ‘climate emergency’ policies was led by competition between different research groups to outdo each other predicting horror scenarios. Alarming predictions attracted media attention, “and our decision-makers felt obliged to quickly react”. But, noted Harde, it is absolutely clear that without a reliable and sufficient energy supply, “Germany and many other countries that take such a path will end in anarchy”.

Professor Harde’s research leads him to state that the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change overestimates by five times the thermal effect of doubling carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. He points to the “highly overlapping and saturated absorption bands” of CO₂  and water vapour, and the significant reduced effect of greenhouses gases under cloud cover. He goes on to state that the recent increase in CO₂ has caused warming of less than 0.3°C over the last century.

He continues:

Since only about 15% of the global CO₂ increase is of anthropogenic origin, just 15% of 0.3°C, i.e., less than 0.05°C remains, which can be attributed to humans in the overall balance. In view of this vanishingly small contribution, of which the Germans are only involved with 2.1% [of emissions], it is absurd to assume that an exit from fossil fuels could even remotely have an impact on our climate. Changes of our climate can be traced back to natural interaction processes that exceed our human influence by orders of magnitude.

In Professor Hande’s opinion, modern climate science has developed more as an ideology and world view, rather than a serious science. Scientists who question or point to serious inconsistencies about human-caused or anthropogenic global warming, are “publicly discredited” and excluded from research funds. In addition, research contributions in journals are supressed, and in a reference to the recent Professor Peter Ridd case in Australia, placed on leave or dismissed from their university.  After all, he notes, this is “settled climate science”, and doubts about the harmful effect of CO₂ on the environment and the climate are not allowed, “because it is about nothing less than saving the planet”.

What we call truths, continues Harde, depends to a large extent on our state of knowledge. He suggests that climate science requires a fundamental review of the hypotheses and a shift away from the widely established climate industry. Science must not be misled by commerce, politics or ideology, he says. It is the genuine task of universities and state-funded research institutions “to investigate contradictory issues and to ensure independent, free research that gives us honest answers, even when these answers are often complex and do not fit into a desired political context”.

Harde concludes by warning politicians that it would be an irresponsible environmental and energy policy to continue to ignore serious peer-reviewed scientific publications that show a much smaller human impact on the climate than previously thought. It is also irresponsible to shut down a reliable, adequate and affordable energy supply, to be replaced by millions of wind turbines, “that destroy our nature and shred trillions of birds and insects”.

Salman Osama Al-Fergusani: Corrupt to the core, this terrorist has no ideological commitment, being instead an unscrupulous careerist gun-for-hire on sale to the highest bidder.

Many security experts believe this proclivity and his dissolute lifestyle render Al-Fergusani susceptible to bribery and/or blackmail. However he too has escaped justice so far not least due to the support he mysteriously garners from some of the country’s most powerful figures. As a scrawny pencil-necked geek Al-Fergusani has acted, through his lies, falsifications and other forms of duplicity as a bomb-maker rather than bomb-planter. He’s not popular with former colleagues who have variously referred to him as “a stinking hive of Satanic energy”, a “posturing charlatan” and “a smooth-talking wallet lifter” so maybe one of them will rat him out in the near future.

Whatever the outcome we should all remain assured that the authorities, especially the alphabet security agencies, will do everything in their power to seek out and bring to justice these murderous criminals.

Many Prepper and survivalist web sites contain an abundance of material about the likelihood of gun confiscation in the aftermath of a major disaster. The general premise is that government agencies and/or military units will be going door to door after a declaration of martial law to forcibly deprive you of weapons and ammunition. In any historic disaster that you can name, government has always continued to function at both the state and federal levels. The degree to which they were timely in their response, or even effective, is not an issue. The point is that a constituted and functional government (the people who you think you elected), were responding to a recognized need because they had a political motivation or statutory obligation to do so.

Most frequently cited in Prepper articles is the warning that gun confiscation is an inevitable consequence of a declaration of martial law. In the case of Hurricane Katrina, law enforcement personnel were, in fact, going door to door to confiscate firearms. There were numerous highly qualified Search and Rescue teams that refused to go to New Orleans because they were not allowed to carry firearms for their own protection.

If the entire system were to suddenly go sideways, what is the probability of an enforceable martial law declaration, followed by gun confiscation? For example, if a solar coronal mass ejection (CME) event took out the entire national power grid could you realistically expect an army platoon to break through your front door in search of firearms, ammo and surplus food? I think not.

In order for martial law to be effective, you must first have a means of declaring it to the general populace. Second, you must have a means of enforcing it. The absence of either factor renders the declaration a moot point. Even without a means of communication, citizens will realize that a major catastrophe has happened. If there are no lights on at city hall, it won’t take a genius to figure out that civilization has gone south. Without a means of communication (TV, radio, Internet, posters on telephone poles, etc.) there is no way the general populace would know that martial law has been declared.

Second, if the command and control communications infrastructure has been disabled, government will have no ability to issue notifications or orders to law enforcement agencies (federal, state, county or local). By using the term “infrastructure,” I refer to computer based network communications, the ability to transmit communiqués via radio, the ability to contact and muster enforcement personnel, and essential coordination of resources. Stated a bit more directly, Fort Bliss will not dispatch a battalion of troops from the 1st Armored Division to Albuquerque, New Mexico (a distance of 225 air miles) to confiscate your firearms. They won’t be doing it in Humvees, M1-A1 tanks or Blackhawk helicopters. And they most assuredly won’t be on foot.

Finally, the enforcement of martial law (including gun confiscation) presupposes that county and local law enforcement personnel will be willing to carry it out on a national scale. It is one thing to suppress looters and arsonists, but requiring the military or state/county law enforcement to confiscate 350 million legally owned firearms is an entirely different proposition; especially if they are faced with determined resistance. Importantly, there are an increasing number of county sheriffs across the U.S. that have gone on record to refuse cooperation with federal initiatives that would lead to gun confiscation.

Doing house to house searches – whether vacant or occupied – is a very time-consuming and labor intensive process; not to mention the risks involved. Based on national averages, patrol officers number about 2 per 1,000 residents across the country. In rural communities, that number may be as low as one per thousand. In crime ravaged cities like Chicago, Washington DC and Baltimore, it can exceed four per thousand. When you consider housing and population density in urban areas, gun confiscation would be a daunting task to assign to any police force.

Excluding overseas deployments, the number of active duty Army and Marines in the contiguous U.S. is significantly less than 500,000. That is less than 1.5% of the entire population. The number of Army/Marine personnel that would be trained and equipped to deprive you of your personal defense weapons would actually be less than one per 10,000 population. Within a matter of days, every state-side military installation will be in the same situation that you will face: No gasoline, no diesel or jet fuel for vehicles or aircraft, no resupply for commissaries or mess halls, and no direction from the federal or state branches of government. They will be eating MREs for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If the grid is down for you, it will be down for them, too. If you don’t have fuel, or if the semiconductor circuits in your vehicle have been fried, do you think the military will escape a similar fate? You can think of it as an ‘equal opportunity’ form of calamity.

A More Probable Scenario

In my view, the disintegration of government and the abandonment of Constitutional rule of law would rapidly lead to a collapse of civil order. Without a functioning government, looting, arson and home invasions would erupt within hours – if not minutes – in major population centers. Any form of effective law enforcement (civil or military) would quickly evaporate. Instead, as the realization that civilization as we know it has come to an end, local communities and individuals would institute their own versions of martial law, but in a distinctly reverse manner.

The important distinction is that communities would be relying on citizen’s firearms to prevent being overwhelmed by refugees and looters. In other words, if you are inside the compound or town limits, and have possession of a firearm, you will be a defensive asset to the community. Moreover, local law enforcement will likely be aiding your collective defense. The enemy will be on the outside of the barricade.

In a total SHTF scenario, I believe that you are far more likely to be engaged in defending your family, property or survival community from raiders than you would be from government-backed confiscators of your weapons. The more tangible danger is from a still-functioning government that has abandoned Constitutional rule of law.
